Detailed Position details The Assistant Director for Program Development will provide a wide range of proposal development and external relationship support to Golisano Institute for Sustainability (GIS) and CIMS.The applicant will oversee the coordination and management of all sponsored research for the department andwork to identify opportunities and develop successful partnerships with funding agencies as well as corporate sponsors.This position willsupervise the Senior Program Administrator and is a direct report to the Director of GIS/CIMS.·Identify, cultivate, and maintain successful longterm partnerships with funding agencies·Work together with the director in the planning, development of new funding initiatives·Writing and preparation of proposals and grant applications·Conduct final review of all proposals, grants and contracts to ensure compliance with RIT policies, sponsor guidelines and overall excellence of the documents·Coordinate and facilitate teams of department faculty & staff, and external partners for the development of collaborative projects·Collaborate together with technical teams in the preparation of proposals and presentations in support of grant and proposal activity·Provide oversight on all sponsored research proposals, grants and contracts·Represent the director as needed relative to sponsored research activity, technical conferences, tradeshows, events and meetings·Establish, cultivate, and maintain partnerships with industry, government and non-government organizations and other related stakeholders·Perform prospect research·Detailed and timely follow-up with existing sponsors and partners·Special projects as neededStrategic Planning·Develop subsequent year work plans·Work with director and others to determine target areas and gain insight into emerging focus areasThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
